I am a bit late with this post, but perhaps not so much as the powers that be. I was doing a search on ‘Nibutani’ and came across this article from the Nibutani Journal, hosted by the New York Times.
The Ainu have finally been recognised as an ‘indigenous people’ by the Japanese Parliament. Better late than never, I suppose.
